One of the best windsurfing spots in Brazil

Sao Miguel do Gostoso Spot named Ponta do Santo Cristo is one of the windiest areas of the planet, thanks to a costant trade wind together with special thermic effects.

With low tide a flat water area enables newcomers to learn beach and water-starts easily, while a sandy bank with perfect rolling waves, approximately 400 meters from the coast, provides best fun to intermediate and advanced surfers.

Wind direction is E-SE, side-shore starboard tack (wind from the right), averaging 18 to 25 knts. Most used sails are 4.7 – 5.3 and 7 to 11 kites.
From October to March north swells happen to get in, creating beautiful conditions for waveriding and jumping.

In July and August the wind can be from S-SE, off-shore in the bay, so not good. We organize trips to other spots in the south coast (Perobas or Maracajau), where during those months the conditions are better.

Windsurfing rental or storage and lessons for everyone

We have equipment from RRD, top italian design. Available for you 50 bords from wave 68 liters to beginner 220 liters and 60 sails from 3.5 m. to 7.2. You can book your boards that will be always available for you and try other boards when available. The sails choice is free, you don’t need to book it.

If you want to bring your own equipment, we have the storage facilities:

– Rescue boat
– 24 hrs security storage
– fresh water and showers.
– beach assistance

If you want to improve your skills on the water we have available some very good instructors.

One of the goals of Dr.WIND’s project is to involve more and more people in this wonderful world of the sports related to the wind and the ocean.

Windsurf course Level 1

TEST – 1 hour
a short introduction of theory in the beach and then right into the water

LEVEL 1 – Beginners – 4 hrs
required skills: feeling with the water

safety rules, basic theory, start, basic tack, simulation in every step

LEVEL 2 – Intermediate – 4 hrs
required skills: points of sailing and tack light wind

required skills: tack and jibing medium wind planing technique, waterstart, harness, power jibe

Rental conditions & Prices Windsurf Dr.Wind

Fix & Mix sistem: book your ideal board and try others available. It is possible to change your booked board if you feel it’s not the best. We try to keep a certain flexibility, usually boards are double the customers.

Price: the price list has a progressive descount. This is valid only for pre-payed continuous days of rental. Renting in alternatives days you will pay +20% and you will not have the priority in choosing the equipment.

Use of gear: the rental is individual, only the person who is renting can use the equipment. We have a double use option (+20%) if you want to share the equipment.

Damage of the equipment: the person renting the gear is responsible for any damages. Board and sail damages that can be repaired will be charged for the repair. damages that cannot berepaired will be charged for the repair. damages that cannot be repaired client will be charged the cost to replace equipment. Repair and replacement costs are posted at the club.

We offer a possibility of an insurance in loco.

Right of refusal: in a situations which calls into question the safety of sailors and/or the preservation of equipment, we reserve the right to cancel a rental contract. Sailors who do not respect traffic rules in the water or are sailing in a dangerous manner will be warned and then If the dangerous behaviour remains, their contracts will be cancelled. Sailors who do not posses the necessary skills to use equipment or who are using it in a destructive way will also be warned. Unused rental time will be refunded for cancelled contracts.
